Konstantina Karydi

Associate Director Europe & Middle East

Konstantina is a senior professional on International Urban Development, European Affairs and Public Administration with Executive level experience gained at the national and international levels working with private, public and philanthropic institutions. Konstantina has brokered relations and worked directly as advisor to Mayors and senior government teams and has acquired unique comparative city experience and knowledge at a global scale.

Mayoral city of Athens EU Urban Agenda and Development representative from 2013, co-led the implementation of the 100RC Europe & Middle East program from 2015 and acted as 100RC Climate transformation and Global Partnerships EME lead from 2018. She has led or helped develop, broker, finance and implement large scale urban programs and resilience strategies providing training and brokering relations in cities across Europe & the Middle East and with staff across 4 global offices including Mexico City, Singapore and NYC. Notable projects include brokering the first European Investment Bank (EIB) – 100RC partnership, the Athens EEA grants social inclusion and poverty pilot and the Tel-Aviv Yafo Climate Accelerator program with the University of Columbia.

As a volunteer she works with Art & Culture as a means of development and peace, promoting democracy and integration in the Balkan region and she became co-recipient of the 2018 European Economic & Social Committee Award for the operation of the Balkans Beyond Borders (BBB) International NGO which she co-founded in 2010. She is perceived as a frontier-individual and change-manager. In 2017, she became holder of the Executive Global Masters Innovative Governance of Large Urban Systems (IGLUS) having received a double scholarship from EPFL and the Onassis Foundation.
