The Unstoppable Generation: Hacking Entrepreneurship into a Culture

By August 9, 2017 15 Comments

We’re excited to announce this year’s conference which takes place in Regents Park on Saturday 28th October. At Reload Greece we believe that positive change can only come about if entrepreneurship is instilled across all industries and all sectors. In this year’s conference, The Unstoppable Generation: Hacking Entrepreneurship into a Culture, we will address the shift away from entrepreneurship as a success vehicle for the few, to entrepreneurship as a mindset that can be applied by the many, for the common good.

Through the links we have forged between Greece and its diaspora, we will explore the bold role this community can play in funneling its expertise and resources to supporting the development of an entrepreneurial culture within their home country. A range of international speakers and case studies, will examine how the application of an entrepreneurial attitude is reviving traditional industries and having a positive impact on social, environmental and economic conditions. Our distinguished speakers will demonstrate how they are putting a culture of innovation into practice to improve conditions in schools, hospitals and across the public sector. Young but mighty individuals will share their stories about the initiatives they are taking to develop groundbreaking solutions to age-old challenges. Throughout the day we will explore and debate how a mindset of entrepreneurism can be hacked into a culture to create long term and sustainable change.

RG Conference17 has an impressive range of speakers and advisors.  Gordon Innes, Economic Development at Bloomberg Associates and former CEO of London & Partners, where he led the company to attract investment and spend which contributed £1.2bn GVA to the London economy, creating more than 38,000 jobs, will be speaking.  The company was twice voted one of the UK’s 100 best, not-for-profit companies to work for and Gordon has also held senior positions in UK national government.

Diana Voutyrakou, Founder & General Manager of Unique Minds, a non-profit organization whose purpose is to assist students and young adults to identify and follow their ideal academic path will be sharing her insights and Aimilios Chalamandaris, CEO & Co-Founder of Innoetics, a Greek startup that has developed text-to-speech and voice-to-speech technology, who Samsung has recently acquired, will be speaking.

Conference advisors include Dr. Othon Anastasakis (Director, SEESOX Oxford University), Michael G. Jacobides (SD Gordon Chair of Ent’ship & Innovation, London Business School), Yannis Palaiologos (Features Reporter, Kathimerini), Vicky Pryce (Economist and CEBR Board Member ) and Dimitris Vayanos (Professor of Finance, London School of Economics).

Entrepreneurs have the drive and the passion to change the world; we believe that they are today’s heroes. Brilliant game-changers, whose startups have disrupted old business models and created a new economic playing field. At Reload Greece, we believe these heroes are not only in Silicon Valley and other tech hubs around the world. Since 2012, Reload Greece has been building a new generation of entrepreneurs who are taking initiatives, big and small to improve their societies, environments and building sustainable businesses that impact their home country, from wherever they are based.

Entrepreneurship brings down barriers between communities and cultures and builds bridges that help us take on common challenges together. After almost a decade since the Greek crisis began, the young generation is now being put to the test. This Unstoppable Generation are looking to do things differently, developing new opportunities and being the change they want to see. Please join us to be part of this vibrant discussion.
