Member, London Steering Committee, Techfugees
Farnam sits on the London steering committee for Techfugees, Techfugees is a non-profit coordinating the international tech community’s response to the needs of refugees, asylum seekers and displaced people. It exists to empower the displaced with technology. Techfugees organises conferences, workshops, hackathons and meetups around the world in an effort to generate tech solutions for and with displaced people. It also curates and promotes the best projects it finds for partnerships & implementation in the field.
Outside of Techfugees, Farnam leads HSBC’s work on Sustainable Bonds in EMEA and is responsible for deal origination and advisory for green, social, and sustainability bonds. She also contributes to HSBC’s wider efforts on sustainable financing, including product development and the bank’s own balance sheet commitments. She has over eight years of experience working with investors, issuers, and other stakeholders on the integration of environmental and social factors into investment decisions, including the development of investment strategies for some of the world’s largest asset owners. Farnam holds an MBA from the University of Oxford and studied International Relations at the University of Toronto.
