What is RG Challenge and which are the benefits of joining?

RG Challenge is Reload Greece’s intense accelerator programme, offering advanced education to 15 early stage startups to support them to fast track their business, gain an insight into the UK investor ecosystem and become ready to raise their initial round of £250K funding. Over a challenging 11-days, our incredible pool of 40 business and academic mentors, consultants and industry experts, will refine your business model, strategy and financials and make your startup more attractive to investors.

Our experienced life coaches will support your personal development by helping to build your confidence and develop your pitching skills through interactive pitch training. You’ll hear inspirational talks and presentations and have the chance to take part in UK startup immersion activities, which will help you to further develop your understanding of the UK ecosystem. The final Dragon’s Den Style Pitch Event is your chance to shine while presenting your business to a panel of judges, investors and a live audience, for a chance to win awards and prizes! You will also gain invaluable 1:1 time with investors who have a specific interest in your business.

What we are looking for

RG Challenge19 is open to start-ups at the MVP stage, preferably with some initial traction and ready to make the next step of raising funding. It’s ideal if your business model has a connection to Greece that could have a positive social or economic impact on the country. Maybe you employ people in Greece, are launching in the country or you have plans to shift part of your manufacturing there. The industries we are particularly looking to receive applications from are high growth, high – tech businesses in the tourism, agriculture, shipping, finance, medicine, education and aerospace sectors. An AI, Big Data or Virtual Reality edge would be an advantage. So, if your startup belongs to one of these sectors, we would love to hear from you.

RG Challenge past winners

Entomics, a waste tech start-up which transforms organic waste into high value animal feed, using insects as the bioconversion engine, won last year’s RG Challenge Judges Award. The start-up won a £5,000 cash prize, six months desk space for three people at Central Working in London and three Joelson law sessions. After winning the programme, Fotis Fotiadis, CTO of Entomics said “I’m delighted to win the RG Challenge Judges Award. It was a truly amazing experience – it was fun & stressful but in the end rewarding. I enjoyed meeting new people and pushing ourselves to the extreme. All of the mentors really helped us to develop and it was great to work with other startups as we could share experiences and encourage each other. Winning this award is very important for us because of the introductions we will get to investors and for the support we will gain from Reload Greece. What Reload Greece does is amazing, it is really needed for the youth in Greece.

Katerina Santikou, Founder of hotel talent portal Workathlon, and winner of the RG Challenge17 Judges Award said Through RG Challenge17 we secured the bigger part of our funding and since then our team has grown significantly to 9 full time employees and we are experiencing over 1000% growth per year. Our funding came after we won Reload Greece Challenge, we now have more than 400% revenue growth year on year and we have already expanded to new markets. I learned a lot through RG Challenge, I became pitch ready, met some incredible people – both founders and mentors – and got connected to a great pool of mentors and investors who help me till today.
