The support of our donors, partners and in-kind supporters, who believe in our mission and enable us to inspire and educate entrepreneurs to build sustainable businesses and create a positive impact in their home countries, is invaluable. So, it was wonderful to bring together our partners, show our appreciation for their support and share our vision for growth when we held the Reload Greece Foundation partner appreciation event at the British Embassy Residence in Athens on Tuesday the 14th of October.
The appreciation event started with a welcome from H.E. the British Ambassador, Kate Smith CMG, then George Houpis, Chairman of the Reload Greece Board of Trustees and Angela Stathi, CEO of Reload Greece, shared an overview of the organisation’s activities & impact.
Next, two of our donors, Mr Yannis Manuelides, Partner at London law firm Allen & Overy and Mr Ioannis Konstantinis, Chief Strategy, Transformation & Wholesale Officer at OTE Group, shared why their companies are supporting Reload Greece’s work and how they are collaborating with us.
Yannis Manuelides said “We contribute to Reload Greece because of the enthusiasm and effort they put into supporting young people’s talents. I am a child of `Metapolitefsi and I’ve spent years working outside of Greece. What I’ve seen here is the rise of a whole new young generation of Greeks. They have the talent and the energy, but they didn’t have the opportunity. Reload Greece have acknowledged the difficulties and embraced these young people and given guidance.”
Ioannis Konstsntinidis said “When I worked with Reload Greece at the recent RG Connect19 conference, I saw energy and passion from many young people. Young people were asking questions, they were interested and engaged. Young people can provide clear value to our country. We want to help the younger generation, which is also a key component of OTE. Human imagination in combination with technology can do miracles. Reload Greece works in the international business arena and supports the development of new society. Initiatives like Reload Greece are adding value to our community, so I urge anyone to support this initiative.”
Katerina Santikou, Founder of RG alumni startup Workathlon, who won the Judges Award in our RG Challenge17 accelerator programme, then inspired attendees with her entrepreneurial story on how she has successfully built her team in Greece and is expanding her startup globally.
Katerina said “Through Reload Greece I managed to raise funding and grow the team. Reload Greece helped to make my dream a reality.”
The appreciation event was also an invaluable opportunity to invite our partners to participate in a discussion about Reload Greece’s future plans and strategy when Markos Kiosseoglou, Co-Founder & Board Member of Reload Greece led a Q&A with attendees.
It was extremely interesting and helpful to discuss our future plans with such a distinguished audience and to to hear their thoughts and feedback. Furthermore, we are very grateful to H.E. the British Ambassador, Kate Smith CMG, for kindly opening her Residence for the event. Hosting the appreciation event in such a prestigious venue is a statement to our strong collaboration with the British Government and their continued support of our work.
We look forward to building on the effective working partnerships we have developed over the last 7 years and building new partnerships which can help to drive our mission forward. You can see photos from the event here and if you are interested in discussing opportunities to support our work or in collaborating with us, we would be delighted to hear from you, so please do not hesitate to contact us at email@example.com.
